Japadog has been around downtown Vancouver for several years now, though this was the first time I ever tried it. For those who are unfamiliar with Japadog, they sell Japanese inspired flavoured hotdogs; its not going to be just your typical ketchup and mustards on these babies.

Any popular typically has a lineup and Japadog is no exception, and with the Olympics in town there are certainly a lot more tourists checking out this unique twist to a very staple North American snack.

Japadog provides are very big and descriptive menu for everyone. They listed 6 most popular ones on the big board, although there were more choices at the bottom.
The 6 are
Kurobuta Terimayo, Okonomi, Kurogoma Kimchi, Kobe Special, Ume and Edamame.

The Kurbouta consists of Kurobuta (Japanese black hog) Pork, Japanese Mayo, Teriyaki sauce and seaweed. Quite different from your typical, ketchup mustard relish and onions huh?

The green sauce on it was additional addon: Wasabi Mayo.

Okonomi consists of Kurobuta Pork, cabbage, bonito flakes, Japanese Mayo and Special Okonomi sauce.

The Kurogoma Kimchi uses turkey smokie, Kurogoma (Black Sesami) and kimchi. They do say its not a very spicy kimichi. I guess it’s not to scare off any potential customers.

Kobe Special was sold out by the time I got there, although from what I can see, its of course made of Kobe beef, Wagarashi sauce and Yuba, (Soy).

Ume, probably the prettiest of the bunch, uses Bratwurst (Pork), onion and a special plum sauce.

The last is Edamame. Its Bratwurst (Pork) that has edamame stuffed in it.

This is definitely a great twist. The sausage they use were big and definitely filling.
Overall:+
A definite must visit for everyone. This a great example of thinking out of the box to give a boring thing such as the hotdog new life.
